The resonator turbo boost charger intake pipe for the XC90, XC70, S60 and V70, available in both silicone and rubber versions. It replaces the restrictive original resonator arrangement with a straightforward pipe.

Silicone comes in blue, black and red, will not perish or harden with age, and handles far higher temperatures - the better long-term choice and the one most people pick. The rubber version is the more discreet like-for-like option if you want the engine bay to look standard.

The original resonator is a noise-damping chamber in the intake tract. Replacing it with a plain pipe removes a restriction and a known failure point - the original plastic item cracks with age and heat, causing boost leaks, poor running and fault codes. You will notice a little more intake noise.

Boost leak symptoms: sluggish acceleration, a whistling or hissing under load, reduced power, and often a boost pressure fault code. The crack is frequently on the underside where it is not obvious, so it is worth removing the part to inspect rather than eyeballing it in place.
