What are blanking bungs used for?

Sealing a pipe, tube or port you are not using - blanking a redundant takeoff after an engine swap or component delete, capping open pipe ends during storage, transport, painting or blasting, and keeping debris and moisture out of a system that is part-built or laid up.

What are they made from?

3D printed ABS plastic - tough, reusable and dimensionally consistent. Being printed to order means we can cover a wider range of sizes and colours than injection moulding would justify, and it means an unusual size is often possible if you ask.

What colours are available?

Black, blue, red, white and a standard version. The colour is functional as much as cosmetic: a bright bung is obvious during a later inspection, so nobody assumes a blanked port is a connected one. Many workshops use a specific colour to mark temporary blanks.

Solid or hollow - what is the difference?

Solid bungs seal a port completely. Hollow bungs plug the opening while leaving a passage through, which suits situations where you want to reduce or restrict an opening rather than close it, or where a smaller line needs to pass through a larger port.

Can I use them on pressurised ports?

They are best suited to low or zero pressure blanking and protection. For a pressurised coolant or boost port, use a reinforced silicone blanking cap, which is rated 5 to 12 bar and made for that duty. A plastic bung on a pressurised port relies entirely on the clip and the fit.

How do I size one?

Measure the internal diameter of the pipe or port you are plugging, or the outside diameter if the bung fits over rather than into it - check which style the listing is. It should be a firm interference fit that needs some effort, not something that drops in loosely.
