Heavy Duty Pole Hose is a high-performance reinforced PVC hose designed for water-fed pole systems and demanding fluid transfer applications. Manufactured with a smooth bore white non-toxic PVC inner layer, triple polyester yarn reinforcement, and a durable PVC outer wall, the hose combines strength, flexibility, and long service life. With excellent resistance to kinking, abrasion, and environmental exposure, it is engineered for reliability in professional cleaning and maintenance operations. Certified to ISO 5774:2016 Type C, this hose provides dependable performance under pressure while remaining easy to handle in day-to-day use.

Key Features:

  • Inner Layer: White non-toxic PVC for clean and safe water transfer.

  • Reinforcement: Triple polyester yarn for strength and pressure stability.

  • Outer Layer: Flexible PVC for durability and abrasion resistance.

  • Internal Diameters: 6 mm and 8 mm available.

  • Wall Thickness: 2.8 mm (6 mm ID) and 3 mm (8 mm ID).

  • Working Pressure: 20 bar across all sizes.

  • Bursting Pressure: 60 bar (3:1 safety factor).

  • Bending Radius: 30 mm (6 mm ID) and 48 mm (8 mm ID).

  • Operating Temperature: -10°C to +65°C (peak +70°C).

  • Standards: Conforms to ISO 5774:2016 Type C.

The triple-yarn reinforcement provides excellent pressure handling, maintaining flexibility and dimensional stability even under continuous use. Its smooth bore ensures unrestricted flow and efficient delivery, while the abrasion-resistant outer layer withstands wear from daily use in demanding environments. With burst pressures rated to three times the working limit, the hose offers a strong safety margin, making it suitable for both professional and industrial applications. Lightweight yet robust, it is simple to coil, transport, and install, supporting efficient workflow and reliable long-term performance.

Applications include water-fed pole cleaning, pure water delivery, pressure-fed washing systems, and other fluid transfer tasks requiring a flexible, heavy-duty PVC hose. Heavy Duty Pole Hose is trusted by cleaning professionals, contractors, and engineers for its strength, durability, and consistent high-pressure performance.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Never go up: a bore wider than the fitting will not grip, whatever the hose is made of. If you land between listed sizes take the smaller bore, and secure it with a clip.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

Heavy Duty High Visibility PVC Pole Hose PVC Hoses Hoses UK

Heavy Duty High Visibility PVC Pole Hose

✅ -10°C to +65°C ✅ 20 Bar ✅ Fluorescent

What is it used for?

Water-fed pole window cleaning systems, and demanding fluid transfer where a high-visibility hose is an advantage.

What sizes and lengths do you supply?

Available in internal diameters from 6mm to 5mm, lengths from 1 Metre to 100 Metres (Full Coil), in orange, yellow, black, blue, red and pink. Order by internal diameter to match the outside diameter of the barb or spigot it pushes onto. Full coils work out considerably better value per metre than cut lengths.

What pressure and temperature is it rated for?

Working pressure runs from 20 bar on the smallest bore down to 20 bar on the largest, with burst pressure from 60 bar down to 60 bar across the 5mm to 8mm range. The operating range is -10C to +65C, built to PVC. PVC also stiffens noticeably in cold weather, so uncoil it gently on a frosty morning rather than pulling it straight.

Can I use it on the suction side of a pump?

No. The braid gives pressure strength but no collapse resistance, so any real negative pressure draws it shut. For suction duty you need a hose with a steel helix - our PVC wire reinforced hose is made for exactly that.

Is it safe for drinking water or food use?

No - this is a general-purpose industrial hose and is not certified for potable water or food contact. If you need a certified food-grade or potable hose, tell us the application and we will point you at an appropriately certified product.

How do I connect it?

Push it fully onto the barb or spigot - warming the end in hot water makes larger sizes far easier - and secure with a stainless worm drive clip. On higher-pressure runs, two clips at right angles give a better grip. Cut the hose square so it seats evenly.
