Silicone Wrapped 45° Elbow Hose provides a durable and high-performance solution for demanding automotive, industrial, and fluid transfer applications. Constructed with a fluoro silicone inner layer, fine mesh polyester yarn reinforcement, and an outer wrapped VMQ silicone layer, this elbow hose delivers superior flexibility, pressure stability, and chemical resistance. The 45-degree bend design allows efficient installation in confined systems where angled routing is essential, making it suitable for coolant, air, and fluid handling across a wide temperature range. Engineered to SAE J20 R6 standards, the wrapped silicone elbow maintains operating reliability from -60°C to +180°C, with peak tolerance up to +200°C. With multiple ply options for added strength and consistent wall thickness, the hose offers secure flow control and durability under vibration, pressure cycling, and thermal stress.

Key Features:

  • Material (Inner Layer): Fluoro silicone for chemical and temperature resistance.

  • Reinforcement: Fine mesh polyester yarn for strength and pressure handling.

  • Outer Layer: Wrapped VMQ silicone for durability and weathering resistance.

  • Construction: 3–4 ply, precision-engineered for dimensional stability.

  • Operating Temperature: -60°C to +180°C (short peaks to +200°C).

  • Working Pressure: Approx. 12.33 bar (small bore) down to 2.8 bar (large bore), size dependent.

  • Bursting Pressure: Typically 3x working pressure for safety margin.

  • Bend Angle: 45° with 150 mm leg length per side for easy fitment.

  • Standards: SAE J20 R6 compliant.

The fluoro silicone inner lining provides excellent resistance to fuel, oil vapours, coolants, and other aggressive fluids, making the silicone wrapped elbow suitable for advanced automotive and industrial systems. The wrapped VMQ silicone exterior resists weathering, ozone, and long-term heat exposure, ensuring consistent performance in under-bonnet and harsh environments. Polyester mesh reinforcement delivers controlled flexibility while maintaining stability against working pressures ranging from 2.8 bar to 12.33 bar depending on bore size. With bursting pressures up to three times the working rating, the 45-degree silicone elbow offers a reliable margin of safety for fluid transfer and pneumatic use. The robust multi-ply structure supports durability under thermal cycling and vibration, while the wrapped surface finish enhances grip and abrasion resistance during assembly. Combined with its broad temperature range, this elbow hose represents a dependable choice for high-performance applications where reliability and endurance are critical.

Applications for silicone wrapped 45° elbows include automotive coolant and air intake systems, turbocharger and intercooler connections, marine and agricultural engines, pneumatic and vacuum systems, and industrial machinery requiring durable angled hose routing. The combination of fluoro silicone lining, polyester reinforcement, and wrapped VMQ silicone outer layer makes the hose ideal for fluid handling, air transfer, and thermal management tasks. Frequently used in motorsport, manufacturing, heavy equipment maintenance, and custom engineering projects, this 45-degree elbow hose ensures secure, long-life service in medium-pressure environments.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Silicone stretches slightly. If you land between sizes, go down to the smaller bore for a tight seal — never up.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

45 Degree Wrapped Silicone Elbow

✅ High Temp ✅ E5/E10 ✅ High Pressure

What size do I order?

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the metal pipe or stub the elbow slides onto. Measure the pipe itself with vernier callipers, not the hose you are replacing - hose stretches in service and reads a size large. Available in internal diameters from 13mm to 51mm, in black.

How long are the legs?

150mm on each side, giving 300mm total length. That leaves plenty of material to trim back to the length you need. If you cut them down, leave at least 25-30mm of straight leg beyond the bend so the clip seats on a supported section - never let a clip end up sitting on the curve, because it will not seal evenly there.

What temperature and pressure will it take?

Continuous service from -60C to +180C, built to SAE J30 R6. Working pressure runs from 12.33 bar on the smallest bore down to 2.8 bar on the largest, with burst pressure from 37 bar down to 8.5 bar across the 6.5mm to 102mm range. For context, a car cooling system typically runs at 1 to 1.5 bar and well under 120C, so there is a substantial margin.

How is it constructed, and how many plies?

A fluorosilicone inner lining for hydrocarbon resistance, polyester braid reinforcement, and a durable silicone outer layer that resists heat, ozone and abrasion. Smaller bores are 3 ply and larger bores step up to 4 ply - each size is built with the reinforcement it needs, so you do not have to specify it. Wall thickness runs from 4.5mm to 5.5mm depending on bore.

Is it compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Yes - the fluorosilicone liner handles modern ethanol-blended petrol, diesel, oils and fuel vapour. That matters because ethanol attacks unsuitable hose from the inside, so an older line can look perfect externally while degrading internally and shedding material into the fuel system.

What is the bend radius?

Bend radius runs from 16mm on the smallest bore to 70mm on the largest. That is the radius the elbow is moulded to, so the bore stays fully round through the bend and flow is not restricted - which is exactly why a moulded elbow beats bending a straight hose round the same corner.
