Clear soft PVC tube with polyester yarn braid reinforcement moulded into the wall. The braid gives it a working pressure rating that plain tube cannot match, while the clear wall lets you see what is flowing through. Built to BS6066, rated 4-10 bar over -10C to +65C.

Because you can see flow, air locks, blockages, contamination and the point at which a tank runs dry. That is genuinely useful on pump, transfer, brewing and laboratory work, and it makes it obvious when the hose needs cleaning. The trade-off is that light lets algae grow if water stands in it.

No. The braid gives pressure strength but no collapse resistance, so any real negative pressure will draw it shut. For suction duty you need a hose with a steel helix - our PVC wire reinforced hose covers 10mm to 51mm and is made for exactly that.

Yes - 4 to 10 bar depending on diameter, with the smaller bores taking the higher pressure. Check the figure for the size you are ordering rather than assuming the top of the range applies. That catches people out on the larger bores in particular.

No - it is a general-purpose industrial hose and is not certified for potable water or food contact. If you need a certified food-grade or potable hose, tell us the application and we will point you at something appropriate rather than letting you assume.
