SAEJ30R6

The Spec SAEJ30R6 collection is meticulously engineered to meet the stringent demands of automotive and industrial applications, providing reliable fuel and oil delivery where it matters most. These hoses are designed in accordance with the SAE J30R6 standard, ensuring their suitability for a wide variety of fuels, including gasoline and diesel, as well as oil and other petroleum-based products. This compliance underscores our commitment to quality and performance, offering peace of mind for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike.

Constructed from high-quality synthetic rubber, these hoses exhibit remarkable resistance to heat, ozone, and various fuels. This ensures not only durability but also longevity, allowing them to withstand the rigors of harsh environments typically found in automotive and industrial settings. The robust material composition guarantees that the hoses maintain their integrity over time, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing downtime in critical applications.

Flexibility is a key feature of the Spec SAEJ30R6 hoses, enabling easy installation and routing even in tight spaces commonly found in engine compartments and machinery. This lightweight design simplifies handling and reduces strain during installation, making them an excellent choice for both professional mechanics and home garage projects. The ability to navigate complex layouts without compromising performance enhances the overall efficiency of your fuel and oil systems.

Reinforcement is another vital aspect of these hoses. Each one is crafted with a braided reinforcement layer, providing exceptional strength and resistance to bursting under pressure. This added layer of protection is essential for maintaining safe and reliable performance, especially in high-demand applications where the risk of failure could lead to serious consequences. By ensuring that our hoses can withstand high pressures, we prioritize the safety of your operations.

Furthermore, the Spec SAEJ30R6 hoses are designed to perform across a wide temperature range, making them suitable for diverse conditions. Whether facing extreme heat from engine components or the chill of winter temperatures, these hoses maintain their performance, ensuring consistent delivery of fuel and oil. This adaptability makes them a versatile choice for a range of applications, from everyday automotive use to specialized industrial tasks.

What does SAE J30 R6 mean?

It is the Society of Automotive Engineers standard for fuel and oil hose. R6 designates a general-purpose reinforced hose suitable for petrol, diesel and lubricating oils at low to moderate pressure - the specification most automotive fuel lines are built to. It is the rating to look for on anything carrying hydrocarbons.

What is in this collection?

Everything in our range built to that standard - fluorolined silicone straights, couplers, 45 and 90 degree elbows, long leg elbows and Classic Wrapped hose; rubber multi-purpose, cotton braided, steel overbraid and unreinforced fuel and oil hose; and the vehicle-specific fuel filler neck, tank breather and fuel pump hoses for VW, Ford, Land Rover, Range Rover, MG, Fiat and Peugeot.

Is J30 R6 hose compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Our J30 R6 products are formulated for modern ethanol-blended fuels as well as diesel and oils. This matters a great deal on older vehicles: ethanol attacks unsuitable rubber from the inside, so an original fuel line can look perfectly sound externally while degrading internally and shedding debris into the fuel system.

Why do I need it instead of standard silicone or EPDM?

Because standard silicone and EPDM rubber both swell and break down in contact with petrol, diesel and oil. They are excellent coolant and air materials and completely wrong for fuel. The failure is gradual and internal, so it does not announce itself - which is exactly why the specification matters rather than the appearance.

Does it cover oil breathers and catch cans?

Yes, and it should be used there. A crankcase breather carries oil mist, which will destroy plain silicone over time even though nothing liquid is obviously flowing through it. Breather and catch-can plumbing is one of the most common places people fit the wrong hose. Use J30 R6 fluorolined silicone or rubber.

Silicone or rubber to this standard - which should I choose?

Fluorolined silicone runs -60C to +180C, will not perish with age, and is available in moulded elbows and shapes. Rubber to J30 R6 is cheaper, matches the original look, and is the practical choice for a straightforward like-for-like fuel line replacement. For a hot engine bay or an awkward position, silicone is worth the extra.
