Identification, mostly. Where several hoses run alongside each other, colour coding by service - red for one line, blue for another - makes a system far easier to follow and to maintain. Colour also blocks light, which stops algae growing inside the way it does in clear hose.

Yes - same BS6066 construction, same polyester braid, same 4-10 bar rating and -10C to +65C range. The colour is pigment in the PVC and makes no difference to performance. What you lose is the ability to see flow through the wall.

No. The braid gives pressure strength but no collapse resistance, so any real negative pressure draws it shut. For suction duty you need a hose with a steel helix - our PVC wire reinforced hose covers 10mm to 51mm and is made for that.

Water, air and light fluid transfer - garden and irrigation, pumps, workshop air at low pressure, general industrial and commercial use. Not for fuel, oil or anything hot: PVC tops out at +65C and has no hydrocarbon resistance.
