Oil breather tube built for automotive applications to handle oil vapors effectively.

What does fluorolined mean?

The hose has a fluorosilicone inner liner bonded inside the normal silicone construction. Standard silicone swells and degrades in contact with petrol, diesel and oil; the fluorosilicone liner gives hydrocarbon resistance inside while keeping silicone's heat resistance, flexibility and long life outside. Built to SAE J30 R6.

What is in the range?

1 metre straights from 6mm to 63mm, couplers from 6mm to 63mm in 20 lengths from 50mm to 950mm, 45 and 90 degree elbows from 6mm to 102mm, Long Leg elbows with 300mm legs from 13mm to 76mm, and a fluorosilicone off-cut mixed box for short pieces. Everything is black.

When do I need it rather than standard silicone?

Any time fuel, oil or fuel vapour touches the inside of the hose - fuel lines, oil cooler runs, oil breathers, catch-can plumbing and crankcase ventilation. For coolant, water and clean air, standard silicone is cheaper and perfectly adequate. If you are unsure what a line carries, ask before ordering.

Is it compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Yes - the liner handles modern ethanol-blended petrol as well as diesel, oils and fuel vapour. That is exactly the situation where an older plain silicone or rubber hose fails: ethanol attacks unsuitable hose from the inside, so a line degrades internally while looking perfect externally.

What temperature range does it cover?

-60C to +180C, compared with -50C to +250C for plain silicone. The narrower top end is the trade-off for hydrocarbon resistance, and it is still far beyond rubber fuel hose. It covers engine bay temperatures comfortably in normal service.

How is it constructed?

A fluorosilicone inner lining, polyester braid reinforcement for pressure stability, and a durable silicone outer layer resisting heat, ozone and abrasion. It is 3 or 4 ply depending on diameter, with a smooth bore that keeps flow efficient. The braid is what stops the bore ballooning under pressure.
