Match on model, engine and year, and use the OE part number where you have it - our listings quote them, such as 4042241 and GGR2522, and the number is far more reliable than the model name alone. If you cannot find one, send photos of the old part with a tape measure alongside.

The fuel hoses are built to SAE J30 R6 and handle modern ethanol-blended petrol. That is particularly relevant on the Escort and Sierra Cosworth items, where the original hose predates ethanol blending entirely and will be degrading internally regardless of how sound it looks.

Age and heat. The fuel tank breather is a hose people rarely think about until it splits, and on a working van that has covered high mileage it will have been heat cycling for years. The symptoms are usually a fuel smell and difficulty filling the tank without the pump cutting out.
