PVC Layflat Hose is a lightweight, flexible, and durable hose designed for water discharge, irrigation, pumping, and general fluid transfer applications. Manufactured with a smooth PVC inner and outer layer reinforced with high-strength polyester yarn, the hose provides excellent resistance to weathering, abrasion, and kinking. Its layflat construction allows it to be coiled compactly when not in use, making handling, transport, and storage efficient. Conforming to ISO 8029:2007, PVC Layflat Hose offers reliable performance across a wide range of pumping and irrigation duties in agriculture, construction, and industrial environments.

Key Features:

  • Inner Layer: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) for smooth flow and flexibility.

  • Reinforcement: High-strength polyester yarn for pressure stability and durability.

  • Outer Layer: PVC for abrasion, weather, and UV resistance.

  • Operating Temperature: -10°C to +65°C (peak +70°C).

  • Working Pressure: 4 bar across all sizes.

  • Burst Pressure: 12 bar (3:1 safety factor).

  • Internal Diameter Range: 25 mm to 102 mm.

  • Wall Thickness: 1.1 mm to 1.3 mm depending on size.

  • Standard: ISO 8029:2007 compliant.

The reinforced PVC construction ensures strength and flexibility, with the polyester yarn providing stability under working pressure. Its smooth inner bore allows efficient flow, while the durable outer wall resists abrasion, UV exposure, and environmental wear. Lightweight and easy to coil, PVC Layflat Hose is practical for portable pumping and irrigation setups, reducing downtime and storage space. With burst pressures three times higher than the working pressure, the hose provides a reliable safety margin in demanding applications.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Never go up: a bore wider than the fitting will not grip, whatever the hose is made of. If you land between listed sizes take the smaller bore, and secure it with a clip.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

PVC Layflat Hose

✅ -10°C to +65°C ✅ 4 Bar ✅ Coils For Storage

What is it used for?

Water discharge, irrigation, pumping and general fluid transfer. It lies flat when empty so it coils compactly for storage and transport, which is exactly why it cannot be used on a suction line.

What sizes and lengths do you supply?

Available in internal diameters from 25mm to 102mm, lengths from 1 Metre to 100 Metres (Full Coil), in blue and yellow. Order by internal diameter to match the outside diameter of the barb or spigot it pushes onto. Full coils work out considerably better value per metre than cut lengths.

What pressure and temperature is it rated for?

Working pressure runs from 4 bar on the smallest bore down to 4 bar on the largest, with burst pressure from 12 bar down to 12 bar. The operating range is -10C to +65C, built to BS6391. PVC also stiffens noticeably in cold weather, so uncoil it gently on a frosty morning rather than pulling it straight.

Can I use it on the suction side of a pump?

No. Layflat has no wall stiffness when empty, so any negative pressure collapses it instantly and starves the pump. It is a discharge-only hose. For the suction side you need a hose with a rigid helix - our PVC wire reinforced or corrugated reinforced hose.

Is it safe for drinking water or food use?

No - this is a general-purpose industrial hose and is not certified for potable water or food contact. If you need a certified food-grade or potable hose, tell us the application and we will point you at an appropriately certified product.

How do I connect it?

Push it fully onto the barb or spigot - warming the end in hot water makes larger sizes far easier - and secure with a stainless worm drive clip. On higher-pressure runs, two clips at right angles give a better grip. Cut the hose square so it seats evenly.
