What is Hoses UK?

Hoses UK is our bulk distribution side, focused on rubber and PVC hose supplied in quantity - radiator, heater, fuel, marine, airline, LPG and servo hose in rubber, and reinforced, wire reinforced, layflat and clear hose in PVC, along with polyurethane ducting and coupling joiners.

What does bulk mean in practice?

Full coils rather than short cut lengths - up to 100 metres on several products - at a considerably better rate per metre than buying by the metre. If you are fitting out a facility, running a fleet workshop, or reselling, that is the sensible way to buy. Get in touch about trade terms.

What standards is the hose built to?

SAE J20 R3 for coolant and heater hose, SAE J30 R6 for fuel and oil, ISO 7840 A1 for marine fuel, BS5118/2 for airline, BSAU110 for vacuum servo, ISO 3821 for LPG, BS6066 for PVC and DIN 4102-B1 for polyurethane ducting. The relevant standard is stated on every product page.

How do I choose between rubber and PVC?

Rubber for anything hot, anything carrying fuel or oil, and anything on a vehicle - it has the temperature range and the chemical compatibility. PVC for water, air and general transfer at ambient temperature, where it is lighter, cheaper and easier to handle. PVC tops out at +65C, which rules it out of most engine work.

Which hoses work under suction?

Only those with a wire helix in the wall - PVC wire reinforced at 3-12 bar, PVC corrugated reinforced, rubber wire reinforced radiator hose, and polyurethane ducting. Braided and layflat hose are delivery only and collapse under negative pressure. It is the most common specification mistake we see.

Can you supply certification?

The relevant standard is stated on each product page, and we can supply what documentation is available if you need it for a compliance file. Tell us which product and what the documentation is for and we will get what we can.
