This hose is specifically designed for the Ford Focus ST ST225 XR5 2.5L turbo petrol model manufactured between 2005 and 2011. It is designed to replace the original hard pipe, providing a more flexible and durable option.

One of the main advantages of silicone hoses is their ability to withstand a wide range of operating temperatures, from -60¶ôÇïÇ?ÇúC to 180¶ôÇïÇ?ÇúC. This makes them suitable for both cold and hot environments without compromising their performance.

Overall, this silicone hose is designed to be a high-quality replacement part that offers improved durability and flexibility for the Ford Focus ST ST225 XR5 turbo model.

Two hose clips included

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Silicone stretches slightly. If you land between sizes, go down to the smaller bore for a tight seal — never up.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

Construction

1 · Outer cover
Silicone, gloss finishPigmented through
UV, ozone & abrasion resistant · colour will not fade or peel
2 · Reinforcement
Polyester textile pliesCross-woven, embedded
Holds shape under pressure and vacuum · ply count rises with bore
3 · Inner liner
Silicone, smooth boreVMQ
−50 °C to +180 °C · non-toxic, odourless · resists coolant & water/glycol
Ply count varies by bore. Hoses up to 51 mm are 3-ply; 57 mm and above are 4-ply.

Ford Focus ST ST225 05-11 XR5 Turbo to Lower Hard Pipe Silicone Hose

What is it, and what does it fit?

A direct-fit silicone replacement for the original intercooler and turbo hose on this Ford. Check the model, engine and year range on this page against your vehicle before ordering.

How do I make sure it fits my car?

Match on model, engine and year or facelift, because hoses often change mid-generation. The most certain method is the OE part number on the part you are removing. If you cannot find one, send us photos of the old hose with a tape measure alongside, or your registration, and we will confirm.

Why replace the original with silicone?

Original rubber and plastic charge air hoses harden and split with age and heat, and they fail under boost - usually as a sudden loss of power with a boost fault code. Silicone does not perish, handles far higher temperatures, and will typically outlast the rest of the vehicle.

What are the symptoms of a failed original?

Sluggish acceleration, a whistling or hissing under load, reduced power and often a boost pressure fault code. The split is frequently on the underside where it is not obvious, so it is worth removing the part to inspect rather than eyeballing it in place.

What colours are available?

black, blue and red. The colour is cosmetic - construction and rating are identical. If you are doing several hoses on the same vehicle, order them together so the shades match.

Does it come with clips?

Some of our listings offer clips as an option at checkout - check the options on this page. Where they are not included, we stock stainless worm drive clips and T-bolt clamps in every matching size. Always renew clips with a hose: old ones lose tension and corrode where you cannot see.
