Silicone 180° Elbow Hose is a premium-grade, heat-resistant hose designed for coolant, air, and fluid transfer in automotive, marine, and industrial applications. Manufactured with a smooth extruded silicone compound inner layer, reinforced with durable polyester braids, and finished with a high-quality silicone outer layer, the hose combines strength, flexibility, and resilience. With a precise 180-degree bend and 100 mm leg lengths, it enables efficient routing in confined spaces and complex systems where full U-shaped connections are required. Operating between -50°C and +250°C, the hose meets SAE J20 R3 standards, ensuring reliability under thermal cycling, vibration, and varying pressures. Available in a wide diameter range from 6.5 mm to 102 mm, silicone 180° elbow hose provides dependable performance for high-demand fluid handling tasks across multiple industries.

Key Features:

  • Inner Layer: Smooth extruded silicone compound for durability and flexibility.

  • Reinforcement: Strong polyester braids for pressure stability and dimensional strength.

  • Outer Layer: High-grade silicone offering heat, ozone, and weather resistance.

  • Construction: 3–4 ply build with 100 mm leg length for secure installation.

  • Operating Temperature: -50°C to +250°C (peak +250°C).

  • Internal Diameter Range: 6.5 mm to 102 mm.

  • Working Pressure: From 12.33 bar (small bore) down to 2.8 bar (large bore).

  • Bursting Pressure: Up to 37 bar (typically 3x working pressure).

  • Bend Angle: 180° with 100 mm extended legs.

  • Standard: SAE J20 R3 compliant.

The multi-ply construction reinforced with polyester braid delivers both pressure resistance and flexibility, allowing the hose to maintain shape and integrity under load. Its high-grade silicone layers provide superior thermal performance, resisting degradation from heat, ozone, and environmental exposure. The 180° U-bend design allows efficient coolant, air, or fluid routing in tight installations, reducing the need for multiple couplers and ensuring consistent flow. With working pressures up to 12.33 bar in smaller diameters and burst ratings up to three times higher, the hose offers robust safety margins for industrial, marine, and performance applications. The smooth bore supports efficient flow, while the thick wall construction enhances durability in continuous-use conditions.

Applications include automotive coolant and air systems, intercooler and turbo piping, marine cooling circuits, industrial fluid handling, motorsport performance setups, and agricultural machinery requiring durable U-bend hose connections. Frequently used in custom builds, heavy-duty maintenance, and high-performance engineering projects, silicone 180° elbow hose ensures secure and long-lasting operation. Keywords: silicone 180-degree elbow hose, U-bend silicone hose, reinforced silicone coolant elbow, high-temperature silicone elbow, SAE J20 R3 compliant hose, industrial fluid transfer elbow.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Silicone stretches slightly. If you land between sizes, go down to the smaller bore for a tight seal — never up.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

180 Degree Silicone Elbow Hose

✅ 100mm Leg ✅ 200mm Long ✅ 3 & 4 Ply

What size do I order?

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the metal pipe or stub the elbow slides onto. Measure the pipe itself with vernier callipers, not the hose you are replacing - hose stretches in service and reads a size large. Available in internal diameters from 6mm to 102mm, in black, blue and red.

How long are the legs?

100mm on each side, giving 200mm total length. That leaves plenty of material to trim back to the length you need. If you cut them down, leave at least 25-30mm of straight leg beyond the bend so the clip seats on a supported section - never let a clip end up sitting on the curve, because it will not seal evenly there.

What temperature and pressure will it take?

Continuous service from -50C to +250C, built to SAE J20 R3. Working pressure runs from 12.33 bar on the smallest bore down to 2.8 bar on the largest, with burst pressure from 37 bar down to 8.5 bar across the 6.5mm to 102mm range. For context, a car cooling system typically runs at 1 to 1.5 bar and well under 120C, so there is a substantial margin.

How is it constructed, and how many plies?

A smooth extruded silicone compound inner layer, polyester braid reinforcement, and a durable silicone outer layer that resists heat, ozone and abrasion. Smaller bores are 3 ply and larger bores step up to 4 ply - each size is built with the reinforcement it needs, so you do not have to specify it. Wall thickness runs from 4.5mm to 5.5mm depending on bore.

Can I use it for fuel or oil?

No. This is standard silicone, which is excellent with coolant, water and air but swells and breaks down in contact with petrol, diesel or oil - and that includes breather and catch-can lines, which carry oil mist. For anything with hydrocarbons in it, use our Fuel & Oil range, which has a fluorosilicone liner built to SAE J30 R6.

What is the bend radius?

Bend radius runs from 16mm on the smallest bore to 70mm on the largest. That is the radius the elbow is moulded to, so the bore stays fully round through the bend and flow is not restricted - which is exactly why a moulded elbow beats bending a straight hose round the same corner.
