Which adhesive to pick?

General Purpose (+80°C) — ideal for side panels, doors, trim and most interior work, giving a strong, reliable bond for everyday use.

Ultra High Temperature (+110°C) — for roofs, ceilings and heat-exposed areas, where the extra temperature resistance keeps the bond from letting go.

Quantity — we supply one 500 ml can per metre of carpet, so whichever length you choose you receive the right number of cans with it.

Four-Way Stretch Lining Carpet in five colours – Anthracite, Beige, Black, Silver and Smoke – cut to length from a 2 m wide roll, in any length from 0.5 m to 40 m.

Four-Way Stretch Lining Carpet is a flexible, professional-grade trim material designed for seamless vehicle and interior finishing. Manufactured from a durable polypropylene fibre blend, the carpet combines strength with a soft-touch texture, providing both practicality and a clean, modern appearance. With a four-way multi-directional stretch, the material conforms easily around curves, contours, wheel arches, and recessed panels without cutting or creasing, ensuring a flawless installation. At approximately 4 mm thick and supplied without foam backing, this lightweight yet durable lining is easy to cut, handle, and bond, making it an ideal choice for automotive, marine, and conversion projects.

Key Features:

  • Material: Polypropylene fibre blend for durability and flexibility.

  • Thickness: Approx. 4 mm.

  • Stretch: Four-way multi-directional stretch for seamless fitting over curves and contours.

  • Backing: None (no foam) for lightweight handling and easy application.

  • Finish: Soft-touch texture for a professional appearance.

  • Applications: Vehicle linings, campervans, motorhomes, boats, audio enclosures, and custom trim panels.

The multi-directional stretch capability makes installation quick and precise, eliminating the need for excessive cutting or jointing. Its smooth, soft-touch finish enhances comfort and appearance, while the durable polypropylene construction resists fraying, wear, and environmental factors. Easy to bond with high-temperature spray adhesives, it ensures long-lasting results in demanding environments. The 4 mm thickness offers a balance between flexibility and coverage, making it suitable for both flat and complex surfaces.

Applications include lining walls, ceilings, and panels in campervans, motorhomes, and trailers, as well as boot linings, headliners, speaker enclosures, and marine interiors. Four-Way Stretch Lining Carpet delivers a versatile, durable, and professional solution for creating seamless, high-quality finishes in vehicle and interior projects.

Colours

  • Anthracite – dark neutral grey, the most popular choice.
  • Beige – warm light tone for a brighter interior.
  • Black – deepest shade, hides marks well.
  • Silver – light cool grey.
  • Smoke – mid smoky grey.

Not sure? Order the sample pack first – it contains an off-cut of all five.

Adhesive Options

Every length can be ordered on its own or with the right number of cans of spray glue for that length – one 500 ml can per metre of carpet, at a lower price than buying the cans separately.

  • Without Adhesive – carpet only.
  • With General Purpose Adhesive – our Pro Adhesive contact spray, heat resistant to +80°C. The everyday choice for van linings, panels and parcel shelves.
  • With Ultra Adhesive Kit – our high-temperature contact spray, heat resistant to +110°C. Choose this for bulkheads, engine bays and anywhere the panel gets hot.

How to measure to fit

2 m fixed you choose your panels width is fixed · you are ordering length
1
List the panels, not the area
Write down every surface you are covering — each side wall, wheel arch, door card, bulkhead, ceiling panel, boot floor. Measure each as a rectangle at its widest and its tallest point. What you need is a run of roll that all those rectangles fit inside, which is not the same as their total area.
2
Follow the contour with the tape
Lay the tape on the surface and let it drop into every curve and rib. Over a wheel arch the skin is noticeably longer than the gap it spans, so a tape pulled tight across that gap reads short — and short is unrecoverable once the piece is cut.
3
Add 50–75 mm to every edge
You need a margin to pull against while the adhesive grabs, and enough spare to wrap the edge behind the panel instead of leaving a raw cut line on show. Add it to both dimensions of every piece, then trim back with a sharp knife once it is stuck.
4
Nest the pieces across the 2 m width
Only the length changes — the width is always 2 m. Sketch your rectangles onto a 2 m wide strip and push them together: two panels that each fit within half the width sit side by side, so the pair costs you one row of roll rather than two. Add the rows up and that total is your length.
5
Round up to the next length listed
Offcuts get used — speaker pods, small trim panels, a patch if you mark a piece. A metre short means a second order and a second delivery. If you are adding adhesive above, you do not need to work the quantity out: it is matched to the length for you, one 500 ml can per metre.
The width is fixed — you are ordering length. Every length is cut from the same 2 m wide roll, in one unjoined piece. Four-way stretch will take the carpet round an arch or a compound curve without darts or joins, but it will not make a short piece reach: pulled too far the pile thins and the backing grins through. Measure generously and let the offcuts be your spare.

What is four-way stretch lining carpet?

A carpet for lining van and campervan interiors - walls, ceilings, panels, wheel arches, bulkheads and furniture. The four-way stretch is the point: it pulls round curves and into recesses without creasing or needing to be cut into patches.

What adhesive should I use?

A high-temperature contact spray - we stock Ultra Adhesive and Trimfix, both 500ml. Ordinary spray adhesive fails in a vehicle interior, which gets very hot parked in summer sun. Spray both surfaces, let them tack off until touch-dry, then bond.

How do I fit it?

Work panel by panel. Cut generously oversize, spray both the panel and the back of the carpet, let them tack, then bond from the centre out, easing and stretching gently into recesses and around curves. Trim once it is stuck, and wrap edges round the back of removable panels.

How much do I need?

Measure every panel, add for wrapping edges and for the stretch, then add a margin for mistakes - and order it all in one go. Running short mid-job is expensive because a second batch may not match exactly, and a shade difference on a large panel is not something you can hide.

Is it fire rated?

It carries FMVSS 302, the motor vehicle interior flammability standard. That is the benchmark for vehicle interior materials, and it is worth checking on anything you line a vehicle with - a lot of general upholstery carpet sold for the purpose has no such rating.

Can I get a sample first?

Yes - the four-way stretch campervan lining carpet sample pack covers the colour range. For a conversion it is genuinely worth ordering: colour is hard to judge on screen, this is bought by the roll, and getting the shade wrong across a whole interior is expensive.
