What metal pipework do you stock?

T6063 aluminium in 1 metre tube lengths, beaded and unbeaded straight joiners, T-pieces and 45, 90, 135 and 180 degree elbows from 8mm to 102mm; 304 stainless steel 45 and 90 degree elbows from 13mm to 102mm; aluminium semi-flexible air ducting; aluminium heat shields; PTFE lined stainless braided AN6 hose; and an aluminium tube off-cut mixed box.

Aluminium or stainless - which should I choose?

Aluminium is lighter, cheaper and sheds heat faster, which makes it the usual choice for intercooler and intake pipework where keeping charge temperatures down is the point. Stainless is stronger, far better in salt environments, and takes a superior polish - so it suits marine work and visible show pipework. They can be mixed in one system.

What is T6063 and what is it rated for?

T6063 is a heat-treated aluminium alloy balancing strength, corrosion resistance and formability. Our parts use a 1.6mm wall and are rated -40C to +220C. It will not rust, needs no coating, and handles engine bay vibration and heat cycling without work-hardening. The stainless parts are 304, rated -40C to +220C.

How do I build a system from these?

Plan the route, then make it up from straight tube and elbows joined with silicone coupling hoses and clamps. The flexible joints take up small alignment errors, absorb engine movement and let you dismantle it later. Cut tube with a pipe cutter and deburr inside and out so the edge cannot score the hose bore.

Beaded or unbeaded joiners?

Beaded for anything pressurised - the raised lip gives the clamp a mechanical stop so the hose cannot simply slide off under boost. Unbeaded for coolant, breathers and low-pressure air, where the smooth end is easier to fit and lets you position the hose precisely. Both are stocked across the same size range.

Can I cut, weld or polish these?

Yes to all three. Cut with a pipe cutter or fine-tooth blade and deburr both sides. T6063 and 304 both TIG weld well, though welding softens the aluminium's heat-affected zone slightly. Both polish up nicely and aluminium can be anodised or powder-coated - just mask where the hose clamps on, or a thick coating can creep and loosen the joint.
