Straight Plastic Joiners

Straight Plastic Hose Joiners provide a reliable, lightweight, and cost-effective solution for connecting hoses in automotive, industrial, and fluid handling systems. Manufactured from high-strength ABS plastic, these joiners offer excellent resistance to heat, vibration, and chemical exposure, making them suitable for a wide range of coolant, air, and fluid applications. Designed with a smooth internal bore, they deliver consistent flow and reduced turbulence across hose connections. Available in multiple diameters to suit different hose sizes, the joiners are easy to install and ensure a secure, long-lasting connection when paired with quality hose clips.

Key Features:

  • Material: ABS plastic for durability, lightweight design, and chemical resistance.

  • Temperature Range: -30°C to +120°C, suitable for automotive and industrial use.

  • Design: Straight smooth-bore joiner for unrestricted coolant, air, and fluid flow.

  • Applications: Ideal for coolant hoses, vacuum lines, intake systems, and general-purpose hose connections.

  • Advantages: Lightweight alternative to metal joiners with excellent strength and longevity.

ABS plastic joiners are widely used in cooling systems, air intake pipework, vacuum hoses, and other low to medium pressure hose connections. Their smooth internal bore and rigid construction make them suitable for both standard maintenance and performance setups, offering long-term reliability and reduced risk of leaks. Lightweight yet tough, straight plastic hose joiners provide a simple and effective solution for connecting hoses across a wide range of industries, from automotive to agricultural and industrial equipment.

What straight plastic joiners do you stock?

Plastic straight joiners and inline hose connectors, straight reducing joiners and inline reducing connectors, a corrugated pond hose joiner, and male and reducing connectors for polyurethane ducting. Made from ABS, thick walled, in a range of sizes and several colours.

When should I use plastic rather than metal?

For low-pressure water, ducting, pond and general-purpose work where there is no significant heat and cost matters. Plastic will not corrode, which helps outdoors. For anything pressurised, hot, or carrying fuel or oil, use aluminium, stainless or silicone - plastic has neither the temperature range nor the strength.

How do I size a barbed joiner?

Match the barb outside diameter to your hose internal diameter. It should need a firm push to go on - warming the hose end in hot water makes a tight fit far easier. If it slides on loosely it is too small, and no amount of clip tension will make that joint reliable.

Do I still need a clip?

On anything pressurised, or anything that matters if it comes off, yes. The barb resists pull-off but does not seal on its own once the hose relaxes with age and temperature. A stainless clip is cheap insurance, especially on a pond or appliance connection where a failure floods something.

How do I join two different sized hoses?

Use a reducing joiner rather than forcing one hose over an oversized barb. We do straight reducing joiners, inline reducing connectors and reducing PU ducting connectors covering 20 pairings from 65mm to 50mm up to 200mm to 150mm. A stretched joint seals unevenly and creeps loose.

What temperature will they take?

They are general-purpose fittings for ambient and low-temperature use - the ABS ducting connectors handle around +105C, but the barbed hose joiners are not high-temperature parts. Keep them away from engine bays, hot process fluid and exhaust heat, where you need metal or silicone.
