Built for durability and precision, this 3m (10ft) rubberised tape measure is an essential tool for accurate measuring in any workspace. The rubberised case provides a secure, non-slip grip and added protection against drops and impacts, ensuring long-lasting performance.

A positive thumb lock keeps the blade firmly in place for reliable measurements, while the rust-resistant coated blade enhances durability. Triple riveted blade construction adds extra strength, reducing the risk of breakage under tension.

Ideal for professional and DIY use, this compact and sturdy tape measure is perfect for measuring hoses, pipes, work surfaces, and more. A dependable addition to any toolbox.

Rubberised Tape Measure 3m x 16mm

What is it for?

Measuring and marking hose and tube, and as a straight edge for cutting. A rubberised case survives being dropped on concrete and does not skate off a bench or a wing.

What should I measure hose diameters with?

Vernier callipers, not a tape measure or ruler. A millimetre matters when a hose has to seal on a pipe, and you cannot read that accurately across a curved surface with a tape. Use the ruler or tape for lengths and runs.

Should I measure the pipe or the old hose?

Always the pipe. Silicone and rubber stretch in service, so an old hose reads larger than the pipe it was fitted to - measure that and you will order a size up and end up with a joint that will not seal properly.

How do I measure a hose run for length?

Run a piece of string along the exact route the hose will take, following every bend, then measure the string and add a margin for trimming. Measuring point to point in a straight line badly underestimates any run that curves.

Why not just use a plastic rule?

Because it does not survive a workshop. Printed markings wear off with oil and solvent contact within months, and plastic makes a poor straight edge for a blade. Stainless takes both in its stride.

Is it accurate enough for professional use?

It is a workshop measuring tool rather than a precision instrument - fine for lengths, runs and marking. For diameters that have to seal, use vernier callipers.
