Straight Inline Barbed Plastic Joiner

Our Straight Inline Barbed Plastic Hose Joiners are the perfect solution for securely connecting hoses in a variety of applications. Designed for strong, leak-free connections, these hose connectors feature precision-engineered barbs that grip tightly onto silicone, rubber, and PVC hoses, ensuring efficient fluid transfer.

Ideal for automotive, industrial, and fluid handling applications, these straight hose connectors allow for quick and easy installation without the need for clamps in low-pressure systems. Their durable plastic construction provides excellent resistance to wear and tear, ensuring long-lasting performance.

To provide more versatility, we offer these hose joiners in four colours: black, white, blue, and red. This allows for colour-coded setups, making it easier to organize hose connections or match specific aesthetic preferences.

Whether you need a straight hose connector for air, water, or fluid transfer applications, our barbed plastic joiners offer a cost-effective, reliable, and easy-to-use solution for all your hose connection needs.

What is a straight hose joiner?

A barbed fitting that connects two hoses of the same internal diameter in a straight line. Ours are ABS plastic - lightweight, corrosion resistant and inexpensive, which makes them the practical choice for low-pressure water, pond, ducting and general workshop plumbing.

How do I size one?

Match the barb outside diameter to your hose internal diameter. It should need a firm push to go on - warming the hose end in hot water makes a tight fit far easier. If it slides on loosely it is too small, and no amount of clip tension will make that joint reliable.

Do I need clips?

On anything pressurised, or anything that matters if it comes off, yes - one each side. The barb resists pull-off but does not seal by itself once the hose relaxes with age and temperature. A stainless clip is cheap insurance on a joint that would otherwise flood something.

When should I use metal or silicone instead?

For anything pressurised, hot, or carrying fuel or oil. Plastic has neither the temperature range nor the strength for engine bay work. We stock aluminium beaded and unbeaded joiners from 8mm to 102mm and silicone couplers from 13mm to 152mm for those applications.

How do I join two different sizes?

Use a reducing joiner rather than stretching one hose over an oversized barb, which seals unevenly and creeps loose. We stock straight reducing joiners and inline reducing connectors, plus 45 and 90 degree reducing versions if the run also changes direction.

What temperature will they take?

They are general-purpose ABS fittings for ambient and low-temperature use. Keep them away from engine bays, hot process fluid and exhaust heat. If you are unsure whether your application is within range, tell us the temperature and we will confirm.
