What is red braided PVC hose?
Soft PVC tube with polyester yarn braid reinforcement, in red. Built to BS6066, rated 4-10 bar depending on bore over -10C to +65C, available in 10mm and 13mm internal diameter, cut from 1 metre up to a 100 metre full coil.

Why choose a coloured hose?
Identification, mostly. Where several hoses run alongside each other, colour coding by service - red for one line, blue for another - makes a system far easier to follow and to maintain. Colour also blocks light, which stops algae growing inside the way it does in clear hose.

Is the specification the same as the clear version?
Yes - same BS6066 construction, same polyester braid, same 4-10 bar rating and -10C to +65C range. The colour is pigment in the PVC and makes no difference to performance. What you lose is the ability to see flow through the wall.

Can I use it under suction?
No. The braid gives pressure strength but no collapse resistance, so any real negative pressure draws it shut. For suction duty you need a hose with a steel helix - our PVC wire reinforced hose covers 10mm to 51mm and is made for that.

What is it suitable for?
Water, air and light fluid transfer - garden and irrigation, pumps, workshop air at low pressure, general industrial and commercial use. Not for fuel, oil or anything hot: PVC tops out at +65C and has no hydrocarbon resistance.

What sizes and lengths are available?
10mm and 13mm internal diameter, cut to order from 1 metre up to a 100 metre coil. Coils are considerably better value per metre if you have a long run or several hoses to make up. Order by internal diameter to match the barb or spigot.
