How to measure OD

Measure across the outside

Rigid pipe, tube and joiners are sized by the outer wall, because that is the surface a hose seals against. The bore and wall thickness follow from it — they are not the ordering size.

Use vernier calipers

Set the outer jaws across the widest point. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.

Take three readings, keep the largest

Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the tube is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still clamps down evenly.

Match the hose to this OD

The hose sleeves over the tube, so the hose you want is the one whose internal diameter equals this outside diameter. A 51 mm tube takes a 51 mm ID hose.

Order by OD, always. Tube, rigid pipe and joiners are listed by outside diameter — the surface the hose clamps onto. Pair one with a hose of the same ID. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

What is it for?

Joining a length of PU polyurethane ducting to another length, or to a machine spigot, in ventilation, dust extraction and general air handling. The male spigot slides inside the ducting and clamps up - no adhesive needed.

What sizes do you stock?

Outside diameters of 50mm, 65mm, 80mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm and 200mm. Order to match the bore of the ducting it goes inside.

What is it made from?

ABS plastic with a 2mm wall, 3D printed. It resists impact and moisture, is stable indoors or out, and does not corrode the way a thin steel fitting will in a damp extraction run.

How do I secure it?

A worm drive clip or ducting clamp over the ducting at each end, tightened onto the spigot underneath. That is what makes the joint leak-resistant - the spigot locates it, the clamp seals it.

Does it leak air?

Not if it is clamped properly. On a dust extraction run in particular, chase every joint - a leaking joint on the suction side bleeds away the airflow you are paying for at the fan.
